Pros and cons
What ClickUp does especially well — and the limits to anticipate.
Pros
- ClickUp combines tasks, docs, chat, whiteboards, and automations in one tool: it often replaces 4-5 separate apps, provided you accept its setup complexity.
Cons
- The free plan stays usable solo, but its caps (100 automations/month, 100MB shared storage) make it impractical for a team fast.
ClickUp: when it makes sense.
As soon as you have 3+ active projects or collaborate with a team on a regular basis.
Keep if
You manage multiple projects simultaneously. You work in a team (2+ people)
- You use it at least once a week
- The monthly cost (€6) is small next to the time it saves you
Challenge if
You are a solo freelancer with simple needs (Notion is enough). You hate complex interfaces
- You use it less than once a month
- notion (free) already covers the essentials for occasional use
