Pros and cons
What Zendesk does especially well — and the limits to anticipate.
Pros
- Centralizes all customer channels (email, chat, social, phone) in one dashboard
- Mature automations (triggers, macros, AI-powered ticket triage)
- Ecosystem of over 1,000 integrations (Slack, Jira, Mailchimp...)
Cons
- Price rises quickly, pricing model hard to budget for with add-ons
- Interface seen as dated by many users
- Initial setup requires real time investment, not plug-and-play
Zendesk: when it makes sense.
Worth it for mid-to-large support teams with resources dedicated to setup.
Keep if
You have a growing support team managing several customer channels. You have the resources to properly configure the tool upfront
- You use it at least once a week
- The monthly cost (€19) is small next to the time it saves you
Challenge if
You're a small team with a tight budget — the price climbs quickly. You want a plug-and-play tool with no initial setup
- You use it less than once a month
- A simple free version or a tool already in your stack would do
