It bundles dozens of editing tools: stylish transitions, glitch and retro effects, text and line generators, gradients, holomatrix. Its appeal is speed and trendiness: you add modern effects editors love in one click, without building them by hand.

A big advantage over the other Red Giant suites: Universe works in many hosts (After Effects, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, Vegas). It was historically Red Giant's most accessible product, sometimes sold alone; today Maxon pushes the Red Giant Complete subscription (~$50/month) that includes it.
