- Pro/PPU/Fabric costs scale quickly.
- Less flexible outside Microsoft ecosystem.
- Learning curve for advanced capabilities.
Power BI: when it makes sense.
Power BI fits Microsoft 365 orgs; for others, Tableau or Looker may be alternatives.
Keep if
You use Microsoft 365 or Microsoft ecosystem.. You want powerful BI with fast Excel integration.
- You use it at least once a week
- The monthly cost (€10) is small next to the time it saves you
Challenge if
You reject Microsoft vendor lock-in.. Your team is small and budget is tight.
- You use it less than once a month
- A simple free version or a tool already in your stack would do
