Pros

- Multi-node network rendering.
- Third-party assets bundled in the subscription.
Cons
- Requires a capable GPU.
- Subscription model (no perpetual license).
- Free license is very limited.
Octane Render: when it makes sense.
Octane fits if you produce GPU photorealism regularly; for rare needs, a built-in engine or the limited free license is enough.
Keep if
You want fast photorealistic GPU rendering.. You work with Cinema 4D, Blender or another integrated DCC.
- You use it at least once a week
- The monthly cost (€17) is small next to the time it saves you
Challenge if
You don't have a capable compatible GPU.. Occasional use doesn't justify a subscription.
- You use it less than once a month
- blender (free) already covers the essentials for occasional use
