Pros and cons
What Brevo does especially well — and the limits to anticipate.
Pros
- Pay-per-email billing (not per contact) = advantage for large, infrequent lists.
- All-in-one: email + SMS + CRM.
- Generous, permanent free tier.
- 500k+ customers = proven stability.
- Integrated multi-channel.
Cons
- Less modern interface than competitors.
- Automation less advanced than ActiveCampaign.
- Learning curve on billing model.
- Support less responsive than beehiiv/Mailchimp.
Brevo: when it makes sense.
Brevo excels for SMBs with large contact bases and multi-channel needs; for email-only free options, AWeber/Mailchimp suffice.
Keep if
You have a large contact base but moderate send frequency.. You need email + SMS + CRM in one tool.
- You use it at least once a week
- The monthly cost (€9) is small next to the time it saves you
Challenge if
You send very few emails (free Mailchimp/AWeber better).. You need very advanced automation.
- You use it less than once a month
- A simple free version or a tool already in your stack would do
