Pros and cons
What Animation Composer 3 does especially well — and the limits to anticipate.
Pros
- Free base version, useful from your first motion project
- Huge library of animation presets and transitions
- Drag-and-drop in After Effects, immediate time savings
- Themed Pro packs to extend the library
Cons
- Paid Pro packs add up fast
- Overlaps with Motion Bro if you already use it
- After Effects specific
- Risk of a samey look if everyone uses the same presets
Animation Composer 3: when it makes sense.
The free version is a near-reflex to save time in After Effects. The Pro packs are only worth it if you produce motion at volume.
Keep if
You do motion in After Effects and often reuse the same animations. You want to speed up your flow with ready-made presets and transitions
Challenge if
You already use Motion Bro: the two overlap. You do little motion: the free version is plenty
