- Reserved for professional 3D use.
- Steep learning curve.
- Subscription (Substance 3D or Creative Cloud).
Adobe Substance 3D: when it makes sense.
Substance 3D makes sense when 3D texturing and materials are core to your pipeline; for occasional 3D, a general-purpose tool suffices.
Keep if
You create 3D materials and textures (games, film, product rendering).. You work in a demanding 3D pipeline.
- You use it at least once a week
- The monthly cost (€50) is small next to the time it saves you
Challenge if
You don't do 3D.. Your needs are covered by a single 3D engine.
- You use it less than once a month
- A simple free version or a tool already in your stack would do
