Pros and cons
What WordPress does especially well — and the limits to anticipate.
Pros
- Free and open source (zero software cost).
- Massive plugin/theme ecosystem (50K+ extensions).
- Low learning curve for content management.
- SEO-friendly and mature (20+ years).
Cons
- Requires external hosting and maintenance.
- Security depends on updates + reliable plugins.
- Performance can suffer with many plugins.
- Not suited for complex business apps.
WordPress: when it makes sense.
WordPress is the go-to for content sites and small organizations; for complex apps, a web framework (React, Next.js, etc.) is better.
Keep if
You're launching a blog, corporate site, or portfolio.. You want a powerful CMS without coding.
Challenge if
You're building a SaaS or app (WordPress isn't an app framework).. You don't want to manage infrastructure (consider managed WordPress.com).
