Pros and cons
What Clearbit does especially well — and the limits to anticipate.
Pros
- High accuracy of firmographic data, particularly for identifying decision-makers
- Smooth integration into existing CRM and marketing automation workflows
- Over 100 data points enriched in seconds from an email or domain
Cons
- Full HubSpot lock-in — no more use with Salesforce or Pipedrive
- Unpredictable credit-based pricing, real cost potentially reaching $1,000-5,000/month for a mid-market team
- Declining accuracy for small companies and international businesses
Clearbit: when it makes sense.
Only worth it if you're already committed to the HubSpot ecosystem; otherwise look for a standalone alternative.
Keep if
You're already on HubSpot and accept the lock-in to its ecosystem. The credit budget ($450+/month) is justified by your lead enrichment volume
- You use it at least once a week
- The monthly cost (€15) is small next to the time it saves you
Challenge if
You use Salesforce or Pipedrive — Clearbit is no longer available standalone. You target small or international companies where accuracy drops
- You use it less than once a month
- A simple free version or a tool already in your stack would do
